Amanda E. Halliburton, of the Investigation of Science and Practice Integration (I-SPI) lab (https://www.psyc.vt.edu/labs/i-spi), has been accepted into the Edward A. Bouchet Honor Society. The society honors graduate students who displays scholarly performance, strong leadership capability, great character, and promotes diversity in doctoral education (for more information, see http://gsas.yale.edu/diversity/edward-bouchet-conference). Amanda is a doctoral student in the Clinical Science concentration, where her research focuses on adapting cognitive-behavioral interventions for developmentally-appropriate use with youth. Furthermore, Amanda is a Diversity Scholar at Virginia Tech (http://graduateschool.vt.edu/about/diversity/diversity-scholars.html). The goal of Diversity Scholars is to “advocate for the awareness, knowledge, and skills associated with diversity and inclusion in the Graduate School and greater community”. She also encourages diversity and inclusion in the classroom in her role as a Founding Fellow in the Graduate Academy for Teaching Excellence (http://vtgrate.org).
